Do you serve food every day?
Yes. Our kitchen runs a full menu, offering pub classics, seasonal dishes, and options for all dietary needs. On Wednesday and Sunday evenings the kitchen is closed and we host a rotating line‑up of independent food trucks, so there’s always something great to eat at The Coach & Horses.
Please see our daily bar and kitchen opening times in this FAQ section.
Check our Events Calendar for updates.
Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes - our kitchen team is fully trained in handling all food allergies, and we offer clear guidance on gluten‑free, dairy‑free, vegetarian, and vegan dishes.
However, as all dishes are prepared in the same kitchen, we cannot guarantee that our dishes are suitable for guests with severe allergies.
We have a 5 star health hygiene rating for our kitchen and are proud to serve meals which are all freshly prepared there.
Do you offer Sunday roasts?
Yes - our Sunday roasts are hugely popular and one of our busiest services. We offer a choice of meats, a vegetarian option, and full allergy‑friendly preparation. Booking is strongly recommended. Check out our Sunday menu on the website.
Do you just serve Roasts on a Sunday?
Not at all. While roasts are the star of the show on Sundays, we also offer a smaller but well‑chosen range of other dishes from our main menu.
Do you have a Specials board?
Yes. We update our specials board frequently with a mix of small and large plates, offering plenty of variety alongside the main menu. You’ll find the board above the fireplace in the pub.
Do you have a desserts menu?
Yes - we have a dedicated dessert board with around 8–10 options to choose from. There’s always something for everyone, from sponges and tarts to chocolate favourites and a selection of cheeses.
What is your food hygiene rating?
We’re proud to hold a 5‑Star Food Hygiene Rating (Very Good), awarded by Uttlesford District Council as part of the Food Standards Agency scheme. It reflects excellent standards in cleanliness, food handling, and kitchen management across the pub.
